The author of this site served as an officer in a voluntary IDF unit in regular service, under contract and in reserves during the 1970s and 80s, took part in the Yom Kippur war, was seriously injured after the war in an accident during operational activity but returned to contract and reserves service after a few years despite his disability. He then took part in the first Lebanon war in 1982 and continued serving in Lebanon until the IDF withdrew to the security belt just north of the Israeli border. These days he is a civilian and an information systems expert.
